PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply perform an operation in which, after needle location of a sewing needle is changed in the midway of seam forming action, it is returned to the original position. SOLUTION: After an ordinary position and a shifted position are set (S2), when a motor for a sewing machine is driven, sewing action is started and a straight stitch is formed. In addition, when the motor for the sewing machine is stopped (S10) and a shift switch is turned on (S11), amount of movement is calculated (S15) and when it is a timing for the movement (S16), a stepping motor is driven by the amount of movement (S17) and a needle bar is moved. As a result, the needle location of the sewing needle is changed to the shifted position.
