PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a network printer system which saves electric power and gives quick warming up. SOLUTION: The network printer system comprises the network, where computers 1, 2, 3 and 4, a central processing unit, a storage device for storing data, a network controller equipped with IC for controlling a local area network, an image processing mechanism, an operation-displaying part and printers 5 and 6 having print controllers are all connected in network. When there is no request for printing from the printers 1 to 4 for a prescribed period, the supply of electric power is made only to the network controller, while it is sopped at least to the image processing mechanism, the operation-displaying part and the printer controller. Thereby the function of a power-down mode is added, and when the request for printing from the terminal computers 1 to 4 is received through the network, the printers 5 and 6 communicate time necessary for beginning to print the terminal computers. |
