The simulator comprises a rolling test bed (1) or endless belt connected to a microprocessor (2) in order to receive information relative to the rotation of the roller or belt corresponding to the rotation of the subject wheel in relation to the drive and information relative to the rotation of the wheel of the vehicle, and at the same time receiving information relative to the number of revolutions effected by the output shaft of the gearbox. An Independent claim is included for a simulation procedure for calibration and checking of vehicles with measurement equipment for distance travelled or for speed.
