PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device managing device, by which the user of a network managing system can suitably receive a directory service without the necessity to upgrade the performance of the network system when the number of devices connected to a network increases more than a prescribed number. SOLUTION: Concerning the device managing device for connecting a device and a directory server storing information on the device through the network, every time the prescribed time passes, the information on the device connected to the network is acquired. The acquired information on the device is outputted to the directory server, the number of devices connected to the network is detected and corresponding to this detected number of devices, the prescribed time is modified.
