PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for mounting axial type electronic parts which can prevent the effect that, when a part of a part arrangement is lacking or an arrangement pitch is changed in a part aggregate in which axial type electronic parts are arranged at constant intervals, it is erroneously judged as a lacking part in a part supplying means, and which can restrict a generation frequency of an operation stop of a device which is caused by the erroneous judgment of the lacking part. SOLUTION: A control means 4 controls various processing operations in which axial type electronic parts 1 are fetched out one by one from part aggregates 4, 4A and are then mounted to a part mounting position on a substrate. When the control means 4 performs a series of processing operations in which the one axial type electronic part 1 is drawn out of a part standby position n1 and is then transferred and mounted to the part mounting position on the substrate at a predetermined position, a part detecting means 33 detects a lacking part of the axial type electronic parts 1, and also even if a mounting detecting means detects an un-mounting of the axial type electronic parts 1, it does not judge as the lacking part of the axial type electronic parts 1 at a part standby position h1 according to an arrangement pitch instructed to an operation condition input part 43, and the process can be continued, and a frequent operation stop of a device due to the erroneous judgment of the lacking part is prevented. |
