PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parts retrieving method which can easily and speedily specify a part including specification parts characteristic of even individual production machine having many specification alterations. SOLUTION: A portable storage medium 5 such as a CD-ROM stored with part information 6 by machines and information processing equipment 4 such as a personal computer. The part information 6 is a group of part information on parts constituting the production machine by individual production machines. The part information 6 by the machines includes a part table, an assembly drawing, an electronic circuit diagram, etc. The information processing equipment 4 is equipped with a retrieving means 15 which retrieves the part under retrieval conditions.
