PURPOSE: A method for validating an electronic payment is provided to achieve a way of validating the electronic payment by a third party with a credit card. CONSTITUTION: A card number and the PIN code of a buyer are received(30) by the electronic payment center. A computer of the electronic payment center performs a profile checking(32) by consulting a profile table. A prime owner of the card may give to other people a copy of the card . All these people have different PIN codes and will be differently identified during a payment transaction. The profile tables determines whether the PIN code provided by the buyer is valid(34). If not, an electronic error message is sent to the buyer terminal(36). Otherwise, the computer of the electronic payment center checks additional information within the profile tables(38). When the requested amount is below the authorized maximum, the computer of the electronic payment center checks whether it has received in a previous interval of time a validation from the third party including the delivery of the PIN code(42). When such a validation has been received, the computer of the electronic payment center validates the transaction(44) after having cleared(46) the validation information. When there is no validation, the computer calls the third party(48) and through artificial voice, asks for the authorized PIN code to determine whether the PIN code provided by the buyer is a correct PIN code(50). If so, the transaction is validated(44). If the PIN code provided by the third party does not correspond to the PIN code provided by the buyer, an electronic error message is sent to the buyer terminal(52).
