PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device which can always obtain stable and excellent transferability in any environment irrelevantly to variation in the size and resistance of a transfer material. SOLUTION: A transfer material P is passed through a transfer part formed between an image carrier 1 and a transfer means 2 arranged opposite to the image carrier 1, and an image that an image forming means 6 forms on the image carrier 1 is transferred to the transfer material P. Further, a control means 9 selectively performs constant-current control or constant-voltage control over a transfer voltage applied to the transfer means 2 according to the relation between the width of the transfer means 2 perpendicular to a paper feed direction and the width of the transfer material P perpendicular to the paper feed direction. Then the control means 9 controls a transfer power source part 8 so that the transfer voltage value does not exceed a specific upper limit under the constant-current control and then even when a transfer material P having extremely high resistance is fed, ground fogging at a paper non-feed part is prevented. |
