PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tire for a heavy load for improving abrasion resistance and heating durability. SOLUTION: In this pneumatic tire for a heavy load having a tread part composed of a three-layer structure of a cap A, a cap B and a base C from a tire surface and having the tread part having the groove bottom positioned in an A layer, the gauge ratio of the A layer/a B layer/a C layer in a shoulder part and a crown center part is 35 to 80/60 to 20/2 to 20 (total 100%), the A layer is composed of NR/BR/SBR = 100 to 50/0 to 40/0 to 40 (the wt.% ratio) (total 100%), the B layer and the C layer are independently composed of NR and/or IR, and tanδ(A) and tanδ(B) at 100 deg.C of the A layer and the B layer satisfy the relationship of tanδ(A)>tanδ(B) and tanδ(B)<=0.6 tanδ(A).
