A snap stud assembly is provide for pivotally connecting two hardware member s together. A stud is disposed within a tubular sleeve. A lower or bottom en d of the stud is attached to a lower hardware member by pressing or deforming the bottom end of the stud member to provide an interference fit. The upper hardware member is mounted over a top end of the plastic sleeve which includes a top flange but which is resilient ly compressible in the radially inward direction so that top hardware member may be easily forc ed over the top end of the plastic sleeve. Once installed, the upper hardware member is disposed between a top flange and a bottom flange of the plastic sleeve which serves as a bushing about which the top member pivots as well as a washer between the top hardwa re member and bottom hardware member. |
