PURPOSE: An alkaline liquid detergent composition containing magnesium alkylbenzene sulfonate is provided, which uses an arylboric acid as an enzyme inhibitor to maintain the good enzyme stability at a high pH, thereby improving the cleaning power. CONSTITUTION: The alkaline liquid detergent composition comprises 5-40 wt% of magnesium alkylbenzene sulfonate which is obtained by mixing 1 mol of alkylbenzene sulfonic acid represented by RC6H4SO3H with 0.2-0.7 mol of magnesium oxide or magnesium hydroxide; 0.001-1.0 wt% of arylboric acid represented by the formula 2; 0.01-4.0 wt% of a pollutant material degrading enzyme; 1-15 wt% of a solubilizing agent; and 40-75 wt% of water, and its pH is 8-11, wherein R is an alkyl group of C12-C18; and X and Y are independent each other and are H, a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group of C1-C6, a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group, a hydroxy group, a hydroxy derivative, an amine group, an alkylated amine of C1-C6, an amine derivative, a halogen atom, a nitro group, a thiol, a thiol derivative, an aldehyde, an acid group, a salt of acids, an ester, a sulfonate or a phosphate. Preferably the pollutant material degrading enzyme is an active proteolytic enzyme, a lipolytic enzyme, a starch degrading enzyme or a cellulase; and the solubilizing agent is ethyl alcohol, ethylene glycol, propylene glycol or their mixtures.
