PURPOSE: A method for converting print data of color image data is provided to improve sharpness and uniformity of color image data by using gradation tables including various gradation levels according to distribution of brightness in order to convert the color image data. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of gradation tables is formed by analyzing color image data with a plurality of characteristics(S11). A histogram is formed by counting the pixel number of inputted color image data(S12). One gradation table corresponding to a characteristic of the histogram is selected from the plural gradation tables by analyzing the histogram(S13). The inputted color images are converted to image data suitable for a printing operation by passing the inputted color images through the selected gradation table(S14).
