PURPOSE: A system and method for checking an E-mail is provided to notify a reception of a mail of the POP3 or the IMAP type mail server and a web mail to a user automatically. CONSTITUTION: A client connects to a web server at a time set through a web browser(s102). It is judged whether an ID of the client connected to the web server is a registered ID(s103). The client connects to the corresponding mail server in accordance with registered information of the client and searches mails(s108). It is judged whether new mail is existed out of the searched mails(s109). If new mail is existed, the web server receives new mail, deletes harmful mails through a spam mail filter being stored in the web server, and transmits new mail to the client(s110). The client receives the mail and checks whether the mail is a spam mail. If the mail is a spam mail, the mail is deleted and it is checked whether the current time is identified with a set time. If the mail is not a spam mail, it is checked whether a printing function is set. If a printing function is set, the mail is printed through a printer, and the receipt is notified through a light and a sound.
