PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To conduct an appropriate correcting process for video signals after having stored the video signals in a computer as digital data. SOLUTION: A picture quality correcting means 109, which corrects video data such as animation and TV video, is provided between a general purpose display controller 107 that is incorporated in a computer main body 100, and a display device 110. Having synthesized video signals and computer image signals, the region, in which video within the synthesized screen are displayed, is extracted and a correcting process is conducted by the means 109. Furthermore, by linking the correcting process to the time and operations so that the user feels no sense of incongruity.
