A drive for diagnosing a trouble with sensor function, wherein a sensor converting a physical amount to an electric signal and outputting the signal is driven by a drive circuit controlled by a drive signal output from a one-chip microcomputer, the one-chip microcomputer judges the sensor function to be defective if the output signal from the sensor comes out of a specified output range and also judges the sensor function to be defective if the output signal from the sensor does not become a constant value when the operation of the drive circuit is stopped, whereby, even if such a trouble with the sensor function that the output signal from the sensor comes within the output range occurs, the trouble can be detected.
