PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dryer which can reduce running cost. SOLUTION: A drying unit 2 comprises a drying agent rotor 1 supported by a rotation shaft 1a, which is disposed astride a first air passageway 5 and a second air passageway 6. A hot water heat exchanger 7 and a condenser 8 are disposed in the passageway 6. The heat exchanger 7 is disposed at the upstream of the rotor 1 with respect to the airflow direction and constituted so that a high temperature brine (heating medium) collected to a heat storage tank is circulated. The air that flows through the passageway 6 is heated by the brine. The brine in the heat storage tank is heated by a heat pump cycle that serves as a heating means for a hot-water storage-type water heater. After heating the air with the heat exchanger 7, the brine is subjected to heat exchange with low temperature water by the heat exchanger, lowered in temperature and flowed back into the heat storage tank.
