PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disc type steam trap capable of preventing over- contraction of a bimetal. SOLUTION: A valve disc 14 is arranged within a transforming chamber 8 formed by inner/outer ring valve seats 12 and 13 and a cover member 7. A bimetal storing recessed part 16 is formed in an annular groove 10 between the inner/outer ring valve seats 12 and 13. The bimetal 19 and an operating member 18 are arranged around a guide bar 17 fixed to the bimetal storing recessed part 16. One end of the bimetal 19 is fixed to the operating member 18. A pawl part 21 as a regulating member for regulating fixed displacement or more in an anti-valve disc direction of the operating member 18 is provided on the guide bar 17. The bimetal 19 elongates at the time of a low temperature, compulsorily opens the valve disc 14 via the operating member 18 and contracts at a high temperature and does not interfere with the valve disc 14. By fixing the one end of the bimetal 19 to the operating member 18 and providing the pawl part 21 as the regulating member for regulating the fixed displacement or more in the anti-valve disc direction of the operating member 18 on the guide bar 17, over-contraction of the bimetal 19 can be prevented and an excellent air binding elimination function can be maintained over a long period.
