PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner for vehicle which prevent sudden expansion when a bypass passage is fully opened and can realize a maximum state of cooling. SOLUTION: A cold air bypass door 15 opening and shutting a cold air bypass passage 12 is comprised of a rotary door which operates in roughly vertical direction for airflow direction in the cold air bypass passage 12 and the airflow direction in the face air-condition passage 13 for the cold air bypass passage 12 which leads the air bypassed a heater core 5 only to a face opening 6 in the one which the face air-condition passage 13 which leads the air heated to desired temperature to the face opening 6 is merged in roughly vertical direction. The cold air bypass door 15 shuts the face air-conditioning passage 13 completely when the cold bypass door passage 12 is fully opened and opens the face air-conditioning passage 13 completely when the cold air by-pass passages 12 is shut completely.
