PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the lift quantity of a needle valve from getting smaller than a prescribed lift quantity in raising the fuel pressure in a fuel channel. SOLUTION: The bulk modulus of a magnetostrictive element 3 is enlarged, the bulk modulus of the needle valve 2 is reduced, the longitudinal elasticity moduli of a case 5 and the nozzle 12 for demarcating the fuel channel 1 are reduced, and the longitudinal elasticity moduli of a gasket is reduced so that the lift quantity of the needle valve is prevented from being reduced more than the desired lift quantity when the magnetostrictive element 3 is shrunk in raising of the fuel pressure in the fuel channel 1.
