PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a resin composition for a coating material capable of forming a coating film which hardly discharges contaminants into the air and is highly weather-resistant. SOLUTION: The resin composition for a coating material comprise ethyl 3-ethoxypropionate, methyl amyl ketone, tert-butyl acetate, 4- chlorobenzotrifluoride, benzotrifluoride, monochlorotoluene or 3,4- dichlorobenzotrifluoride as a solvent and, dissolved therein, a fluorine-containing copolymer.
