<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the number-of-axles detector which is capable of counting the number-of-axles precisely within the range of an entering angle, which actually occurs and is inexpensive, though the number of the axles can be counted excessively because right and left tires pass through the number-of-axles sensor in a timewise deviated state when the vehicle does not travel straight to the sensor, which is installed on the road surface of a tool gate, but enters the road surface obliquely, though the number of the axles is a significant factor for deciding a toll charge in the toll collection system of a toll road. SOLUTION: The first number-of-axle sensor 10 and the second number-of- axle sensor 20 are arranged so that an interval between them may be equal to or shorter than the ground contact width of the tires of a transporting vehicle, respective outputs from the first and second number-of-axle sensors are inputted to an OR circuit 26 and the outputs of the OR circuit are counted by a counting circuit 25 to measure the number of the axles.</p> |
