<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method which extends the functionality of a computer docking system and make it easy to use the docking system for various portable computer models. SOLUTION: Functionality is added to docking systems (100, 200) without duplicating existent functionality, and consequently an efficient and inexpensive alternative is provided for peripheral equipment such as an external drive and a docking station. The computer docking systems (100, 200) include docking platforms (110, 230), computers (130, 240), and module trays (120, 220). The module trays (120, 220) internally have nonredundant functionality modules adding function devices that neither the docking platforms (110, 230) nor the computers (130, 240) have to the docking systems (100, 200). Further, the module trays (120, 220) do not include duplicates of connections incorporated in the docking platforms (110, 230) and computers (130, 240).</p> |
