PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a leading and trading shoe type drum brake for producing stable braking force without increasing apparent coefficient of friction during braking. SOLUTION: This leading and trading shoe type drum brake is equipped with a reinforcing member 10 on the back surface in the vicinity of a shoe region wherein self-servo occurring in this leading shoe 3 becomes maximum. This can almost fix the apparent coefficient of frictionμduring braking and uniformize distribution of bearing pressure between the shoe 3 and the brake drum 1 without using expensive brake lining having a complicate structure. As a result of this, increase in apparent coefficient of frictionμ, or unexpected braking shock followed by so-called G spread is prevented, therefore, the leading and trading shoe type drum brake for producing stable braking force can easily be manufactured at low cost.
