A method of displaying data on a display screen requires initially displaying a graphical user interface (GUI) and then selecting a first report content parameter by interaction with the GUI. A value for the first report content parameter is selected from a list by interacting with the GUI and a diagram display mode is activated by interaction with the GUI followed by calling up data, partly defined by the selected value for the first report content parameter, from the data bank. A diagram is displayed on the screen and carries visible elements which represent the function of the data called up from the data bank.
