PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for dehydrating digested sludge, capable of performing the extremely good and stable dehydration of digested sludge by estimating the necessary addition amount of a chemical agent and the water content of a dehydrated cake from the properites of the digested sludge at the time of dehydration of the digested sludge, and a method for estimating the dehydration properties of the digested sludge. SOLUTION: In the method for dehydrating digested sludge, a coarse floating substance (Fb), a net organic component (NVSS), the amount of mucilage (MUC), chemical injection-free centrifugal water content (W0) and an SS colloid equivalent value (SSCE) are measured with respect to the digested sludge generated by wastewater treatment and a polymer is added to the digested sludge in an addition ratio of 0.95-1.05 times by weight of that of the polymer estimated on the basis of formula [1]; polymer addition ratio (wt.%/SS)=-0.039NVSS-1.070SSCE+0/070MUC+0.925 to dehydrate the digested sludge. In the method for estimating the dehydration properties of the digested sludge, the optimum addition ratio of the polymer and the water content of the dehydrated cake are estimated on the basis of the formula [1] and formula [2]; water content (wt.%) of dehydrated cake=0.566Fb-10.192SSCE+0.937W0+0.341 MUS-21.365.
