摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for welding a steel frame column by an articulated welding robot, by which the welding robot is easily mounted, labor and time can be saved, and even when the space of the surroundings of the steel frame column is narrow, automatic welding is enabled by using the welding robot, and a welding time can be shortened. SOLUTION: This method is characterized in holding members 13 projecting from the outer peripheral surfaces of the steel frame columns 10, 11, are provided in two prescribed positions spaced about 180 deg. apart on the steel frame columns 10, 11. On the articulated welding robots 14 to be used for welding the butt part 12 of the steel frame columns 10, 11 arranged up and down, leg parts 20 for mounting, which can be fit in the holding members 13, are provided. The leg parts 20 for mounting the articulated welding robots 14, are fit in the holding parts 13 so that the articulated welding robots 14 are arranged in prescribed positions. The arms 21 of the articulated welding robots 14 arranged in the prescribed positions, are moved, and the welding is performed for about half periphery of the butt part 12 each.
