PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure the guide function of a piston rod by a rod guide device and the seal function of a damper cylinder even when the piston rod inserted in the damper cylinder of a hydraulic buffer is bent. SOLUTION: In the hydraulic buffer 10, a rod guide device 80 comprises a rod guide 82 supported in a floating state at a support part 73, situated on the inner periphery of the opening part of a damper cylinder 21, through an annular elastic sealant 81; a bush 83 situated internally of the rod guide 82 and guiding a piston rod 22; and an oil seal 84 situated internally of the rod guide 82 and sealing the damper cylinder 21.
