Combustion mat (1) consists of a matrix (2), fuel particles (3) and materials of another type in the form of a flat structure which lies over a body. The mat and the body are placed in a chamber of a furnace. An Independent claim is also included for a process for the production of a combustion mat comprising mixing the components in an extruder, compressing, degassing, kneading and melting, and extruding through a nozzle. Preferred Features: The fuel consists mainly of metal particles distributed in an equidistant manner in the matrix and bound by the matrix. The metal particles contains beryllium, magnesium, calcium, barium, boron, aluminum, gallium, indium or thallium. The matrix is a thermoplast. |
