摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a piezoelectric material having a high Curie point, a large electromechanical coupling coefficient (k33'), excellent uniformity in composition and high reliability when used as a vibrator of an ultrasonic probe. SOLUTION: This piezoelectric material comprises a composition represented by the formula xPb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3-yPbTiO3-zPb(Zn1/3Nb2/3O3-wPb(Me1/2Nb1/2)O3 (Me is at least one kind of metal selected from In and Yb; and x+y+z+w=1) in which x, y, z and w are each specified as values falling into a region formed by linearly connecting points of a (x=0.80, y=0.20, z=0.00, w=0.00), b (x=0.02, y=0.98, z=0.00, w=0.00), c (x=0.02, y=0.02, z=0.96, w=0.00) and d (x=0.02, y=0.20, z=0.00, w=0.78).
