Modular auto-magnetic manual back support system for supporting welds during end-to-end or angled electric arc welding of steel plates

An auto-magnetic manual back support system for welds in monofacial electric arc welding with high energy and with high metal deposition, during end-to-end or angled assembly of steel plate involves a device made up of a series of two different modules (M1, M2) made of thermomechanical ceramic material forming a batten (A) assuring the different functions of supporting, moulding and protecting the molten bath during the welding operation. The first modules (M1) each incorporate a central fixed component (3) and two lateral mobile components (6) each carrying a magnetic suction cup (2) connected and articulated with the fixed component on two common axes. The second modules (M2) each incorporate some components (1) assembled between themselves and the central fixed components of the first modules following their concave/convex outlines on two metal wires in order to form the support batten.
