PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoplastic polymer composition that has low odor and has excellent mechanical strength and excellent surface appearance. SOLUTION: In the thermoplastic polymer composition (A) containing a volatile component, a saturation adsorption per unit area of the residual volatile component that volatilizes in an atmosphere at 23 deg.C and is adsorbed onto a synthetic lipid, determined as an indication of the content of the residual volatile component, is limited to not more than 100 ng/cm2. A method for producing the thermoplastic polymer composition comprises introducing the composition (A) in a molten state into a vacuum apparatus wherein an average vacuum level at the introducing port of the vacuum apparatus is 1-300 Torr and an average temperature at the introducing port thereof is 150-300 deg.C.
