<p>A buoyancy compensator vest (1) comprises a rigid back board (3) for supporting an air tank surrounded in part by an inflatable/deflatable bladder (13) and a vest back panel (17) and a pair of spaced-apart over-the-shoulder straps (27). The compensator further comprises a pouch (33), interposed the back board and the scuba diver's back and a flexible strap (45) located in the pouch, the flexible strap (45) being pre-bowed outward toward the diver's back and arranged so that the flexible bow of the flexible strap is non-collapsible.</p> |
