PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner which can easily perform not only cleaning by a suction case but also cleaning of a narrow section by a lower brush of a connecting pipe which is separated from the suction case as well. SOLUTION: This vacuum cleaner is equipped with a cleaner main body with a built-in suction device, and an extension pipe which is connected to the main body and sucks in air. Such a vacuum cleaner includes the suction case 210, the connecting pipe 250, a detaching means, and a connecting means. In this case, the suction case 210 has a housing section 211 wherein a suction port 220 which sucks in air containing foreign substances, and a housing hole communicating with the suction port 220 are formed. The connecting pipe 250 is housed in the housing section 211, and on the bottom surface of the open lower end section of which, the brush section 252 is provided. The detaching means clamps and disengages the housing section 211 of the suction case 210 and the connecting pipe 250. The connecting means connects the connecting pipe 250 and the extension pipe 13 rotatably in the vertical and lateral directions.
