PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent paper cut by a cutting means of a folding device comprising a folding cylinder and a saw cylinder and not held on the circumferential surface of the folding cylinder with a needle of the folding cylinder from clogging a paper guide. SOLUTION: This device is composed of: a guide means 8 installed movably between a position closing the lower side of a gap between the folding cylinder 2 and the saw cylinder 3 along the circumferential surface of the folding cylinder and guiding continuous paper W sent between both the cylinders and pulled in along the circumferential surface of the folding cylinder, and a position opening the lower side of the gap between the folding cylinder and the saw cylinder and capable of dropping paper cut from the continuous paper and sent between both the cylinders; a guide displacement drive means 13 connected to the guide means for moving the guide means between the two positions; and a receiving means 20 for receiving the cut paper dropping to the lower side of the gap between the folding cylinder and the saw cylinder.
