PURPOSE: A key input device capable of inputting various characters and a system for inputting information using the device are provided to input various characters. CONSTITUTION: From 1st segment to 8th segment(1-8) are formed in the radial directions. From 9th segment to 16th segment(9-16) connect to the ends of the 1st segment to 8th segment(1-8) and are formed as a rectangle shape. From 17th segment to 18th segment(17,18) are formed in the rectangle shape. In addition, a deletion key(19), a space key(20), and an executing key(21) are included. In detail, from the 1st segment to 4th segment(1-4) indicate the four directions. From the 5th segment to 8th segment(5-8) indicate the middle directions of the four directions. The 17th segment(17) is positioned at the middle portion between the 3rd segment and 6th segment. The 18th segment(18) is positioned at the middle portion between the 3rd segment and 7th segment. The 17th segment(17) and the 18th segment(18) may be formed as a dot form desirably.
