PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diversity receiver and a diversity reception control method excellent in multi-pass fading resistive characteristics by combining a diversity and adaptive equalization when performing single carrier transmission. SOLUTION: The receiver is provided with correlators 107, 108 to estimate an impulse response by the correlation calculation between an input signal and a reference signal, adaptive matched filters 105, 106 to perform matching filtering based on the weighting factor of the complex conjugate time inversion of an impulse response, a composite circuit 113 to composite a filter output, a delay decision feedback type sequence estimation unit 115 to output temporary judging data based on the output of the composite circuit, a replica generator 116 to generate the replica of the input signal based on temporary judging data, a preamble generating circuit 114 to generate a known signal, and switchers 111, 112 supplied to the correlators 107, 108 by making the replica of the input signal of the known signal into a reference signal.
