PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape guide of a high-preformance magnetic recording and reproducing device by solving the trouble of a tape travel which is caused as the slide-contact load between the tape winding end surface of the tape guide and a flange part increases. SOLUTION: On the upper end surface 14b of the tape winding part 14 which comes into slide contact with the flange part, a recessed part 17 is formed in some width from the center toward the outer periphery.
