PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately decides that the value of eye opening degree has become small. SOLUTION: This detector is provided with an image output means CL1 for outputting face image data, a feature variable detection means CL2 for processing the face image data and detecting the feature variable of a face, an eye position detection means CL3 for extracting the feature amount matched with the feature information of the eye stored beforehand and detecting the position of the eye, an eye opening degree detection means CL4 for setting a tracking area including the eye, detecting detailed density of pixels of an image the eye within the tracking area and detecting the opening degree value of the eye and the position of an upper eyelid from the change of the detailed density of the eye, a reference feature amount detection means CL5 for detecting the fixed reference feature amount of the face around the eye based on the position of the eye or the detailed density of the eye, a vertical interval measurement means CL6 for measuring the vertical position interval of the reference feature amount and the specified position of the upper eyelid and an opened/ closed eye decision means CL7 for judging the opened/closed state of the eye from the opening degree value of the eye detected in the eye opening degree detection means CL4 and the vertical position interval measured in the vertical interval measurement means CL6. |
