<p>An active matrix liquid crystal display unit which is provided in its pixel area with a group of pixels having part of an area not covered with a pixel electrode (5), wherein each pixel has a storage capacity (8). At least part of pixels have storage capacity values different from those of the other pixels because the shape of at least one electrode out of a plurality of electrodes (1), (5), or (7) constituting a storage capacity is different from those of the other electrodes. In all the pixels, the outer edges of storage capacities constituted by a plurality of electrodes have the same shape and the identical portions of the outer edges are formed of the same electrode.</p> |
