PURPOSE: A method for driving single-phase switched reluctance motor(SRM) is provided to reduce a loss of switching frequency to the minimum by preventing a motor from stopping due to an abnormal parking thereof. CONSTITUTION: A process applies a power(S601) and performs an initial aligning on a rotator and a stator(S602). After the rotator and the stator are aligned, the process has a predetermined time interval(S603). After the predetermined time interval, the process applies a pullout pulse for an initial rotation of a motor(S604). The process receives a signal through the first sensor, controls a PWM duty ratio, and increases the rotary speed of the motor(S605). The process compares the rotary speed of the motor with a reference speed fixed in a system(S606). In case that the rotary speed of the motor is faster than the reference speed fixed in the system, the process receives a signal through the second sensor and controls the rotary speed of the motor by a dwell time(S607).
