PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide metal oxide carbon-base clinker as a refractory raw material which allows the increase of carbon content, an improvement in permeability resistance and the uniform distribution of carbon and has excellent corrosion resistance, spalling resistance and oxidation resistance. SOLUTION: This clinker is formed by impregnating the porous sintered compact of metal oxide with carbon source raw material in such a manner that this it is introduced into pores to impart its porous structure or subjecting the impregnated matter to baking or caulking.
