PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide surface-treated products which are molded goods of metals having improved corrosion resistance and surface hardness, more particularly alloys of magnesium or aluminum and have beautiful appearance. SOLUTION: The molded goods (1) of the metals, more particularly the alloys of the magnesium or aluminum are used as blanks and are successively provided thereon with a primer layer (2), a hard coating layer (3), a vapor deposited metallic film layer (4) and a layer (5) of the metal or metal compound by ion plating. The ion plating layer is soundly developed by the presence of the vapor deposited metallic layer and the molded goods are securely coated with this layer and therefore the layer of the metal or metallic compound which is the extreme surface layer exhibits the corrosion resistance and scratching resistance.
