PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To supply oil at low costs in a reduced space and prevent liquid refrigerant from being sucked in an air conditioner having a compressor which can be converted to an interior high pressure type and an interior low pressure type. SOLUTION: In the air conditioner the compressor 1, a flow channel selector valve 2, an outdoor side heat exchanger 3, an expansion valve 4, and an indoor side heat exchanger 5, are connected sequentially to constitute a refrigerant circuit. The compressor 1 is constituted by arranging a motor 6 and a compression part 7 to the left and the right sides in a sealed container 1a. The interior of the sealed container 1a is divided into a gas-tight motor chamber 6a and a discharge chamber 8. A discharge pipe 12 is connected to the discharge chamber 8, and a first inlet/outlet pipe 14 and a second inlet/outlet pipe 13 are connected to the motor chamber 6a and made to communicate with the refrigerant circuit through the flow channel selector valve 2. An accumulator 16 having an oil separating function is provided between the selector valve 2 and the indoor side heat exchanger 5, and an oil return means is provided between the accumulator 16 and the compressor 1.
