The invention relates to a driving installation with crank and connecting-rod assembly for a plunger piston pump employed to extract fluids from great depths, which employs the process of surface drive by means of a string of rods. The driving installation with crank and connecting-rod assembly for the plunger piston pump comprises an inclined plane (2) resting on the base frame (1) and comprising two parallel longitudinal beams leaning against the vertical mast (3) and continuing with a tiltable section (5). Some pulleys (7) for passing the strands of cable (8) are mounted at the upper side of the tiltable section (5), an end of said cable sustaining a carriage (11) with a cross-girder (12) fastened thereon. The carriage (11) is articulated with a crank and connecting-rod assembly (14) secured at the base of the inclined plane (2) and by adjusting it, the stroke of the piston pump is adjusted.
