PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure a novel discharge method for achieving a high-speed and high-quality head of a level not achieved conventionally by improving a discharge power and a discharge frequency at the same time. SOLUTION: Liquid channels 3 having one ends communicating with discharge openings 7 and the other ends closed are formed between an element substrate 1 and a top plate 2. A heating unit 4 for generating bubbles to the liquid replenished to each of the liquid channels 3 is arranged to the liquid channel 3 on the element substrate 1. A liquid supply port 5 is set to each of many liquid channels 3 and a common liquid supply chamber 6 of a large volume is formed communicating with each of the liquid supply ports 5. A movable member 8 is set between the liquid supply port 5 and the liquid channel 3 via a minute gapαto a face where the liquid supply port 5 is formed. A region of the movable member 8 surrounded at least by a free end part and both side parts continuous with the free end part is made larger than an opening region of the liquid supply port 5.
