PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multizone-system electrodeposition coater by which the contamination of a tubular electrode such as clogging in a first zone is effectively prevented without deteriorating the operation efficiency of electrodeposition coating. SOLUTION: A plurality of tubular electrodes 3 set on the wall-face side of an electrodeposition tank 1 are used as the electrodes, and an article 100 such as a single body to be coated held by a carrier 4 is used as the other electrode, and the article 100 is electrophoretically coated by this method. A collector bar 7 abutting on a collector E is composed of a first collector bar 7A on the upstream side, a second collector bar 7B on the downstream side of the same line and a relay bar 7C interposed between the collector bars 7A and 7C in correspondence to the zones 11 and 12. Openable/closable contactors K1 and K2 are furnished respectively between the first collector bar 7A and relay bar 7C and between the relay bar 7C and second collector bar 7B. Further, a system driving control part 50 is provided to separately and selectively control the actions of the contactors K1 and K2 in the specified timing.
