PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for processing waste liquid crystal panel by which an ideal recycling system hardly producing wastes is possible and the process is easy and economical with large processing capacity. SOLUTION: The method for processing a liquid crystal panel includes an separation step (S1) to separate glass substrates of liquid crystal panels based on the kinds of glasses by X-ray fluorescence analysis, a combustion step (S2) to combust the assorted liquid crystal panels to decompose and remove organic substances by combustion, a pulverization step (S3) to pulverize the combustion residue including the glass substrates, and a thin film removal step (S4) to peel (remove) thin films remaining on the glass substrates by a mechanical method and then to separately collect the thin films (metal powder) and glass chips (glass cullet). From the metal powder, metals such as indium and chromium can be recovered. The glass cullet is a single kind of glass so that, for example, it can be easily reused by adding and mixing the source glass.
