PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable telephone set which can release an automatic power-on function with a simple operation and can return the setting of an automatic power-on function to an original state with a simple operation even if alarms are set in plural times in the portable telephone set having the automatic power-on function. SOLUTION: The portable telephone set is provided with an operation key, a power-on time storage part 4 storing power-on time inputted by a key operation, a power-on time detection part 5 detecting whether time stored in the power-on time storage part 4 comes or not, an automatic power-on validity/ nonvalidity setting storage part 6 storing the validity/nonvalidity of automatic power-on function setting, which is inputted by the key operation, and a main control part 3 turning on power at the time of detecting the arrival of power-on time only when the validity of automatic power-on function setting is stored in the automatic power-on validity/nonvalidity setting storage part 6.
