PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photographic processing device which allows the efficient use of a memory means, without lowering the efficiency of photographic processing and with reduced wasteful use of a memory capacity. SOLUTION: This photographic processing device has a transporting means which transports negative films, a scanner 6 which reads the image information of the negative films while transporting the negative films, an image information memory section 30 which stores the image data read by this scanner 6, a remaining capacity monitor section 33 which monitors the remaining capacity of the image information memory section 30 and a controller 10, which when the remaining quantity turns to zero during the course of reading the image information of the negative films, stops the transport of the negative films, stops the reading of the image information and restarts the reading of the image information after rewinding the negative films by 1 frame worth or more.
