METHOD OF MACHINING SEATS OF COMPRESSOR PISTON

PURPOSE: A method of machining seats of compressor piston is provided to efficiently machine a hemispherical recess and a chamfered portion on the periphery of the recess. CONSTITUTION: A method comprises a chamfering forming process for forming an annular chamfering portion(52b), by relatively rotating cutting tools capable of forming at least a part of a spherical surface and a compressor piston(50) and annularly moving the cutting tool around a surface to be worked becoming the recess portion; and a recess portion forming process for forming a hemispherical recess portion(52a) by relatively rotating the same cutting tool and the compressor piston and abutting the cutting tool on the surface to be worked of the recess portion.
